Different Sides of a Story: The Memoir and the Autobiography

This unit will draw out the critical distinction between two widely used non-fiction writing styles: the Memoir and the Autobiography. Your students will gain the skills to differentiate between these two different styles. The course will also focus on how Blogging has increased self-expression, broadening the horizons of non-fiction writing, and made it more easily accessible to everyone. Finally, the course will take expression outside the confines of written words and show how non-fiction writing can be expressed within a photograph or other visual art.
